Leadership Team

Executive Director

Jeffrey Tunnell is the Executive Director of Gulf Bend Center and has over 35 years of experience working in the financial and operational aspects of various industries. In the last 22 years, Jeffrey has worked for the Local Authority for Mental Health and Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD) first as a Chief Financial Officer for Central Plains MHMR & SA Center and currently as the Executive Director of Gulf Bend Center. Jeffrey earned his Business Administration Management degree from Texas Tech University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Chief Operations Officer

Nicole Way is the Chief Operations Officer. She started her career at Gulf Bend Center in January 2003 working as a service coordinator in Adult Mental Health Services. Throughout her tenure at the center, Nicole has held positions as Director of Behavioral Health and Director of Program Operations. Nicole received a BS in Psychology from University of Houston-Victoria and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Texas A&M.

Chief Clinical Officer

As Chief of Clinical Services Lane Johnson is responsible for the quality of the clinical product at Gulf Bend Center. He has been with Gulf Bend for over 25 years and has been a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor for over 40 years. He is an approved LPC supervisor and supervises the Center’s LPC Associates. In addition to teaching and overseeing clinicians and case managers Lane also supervises Graduate Internships from Universities around the country.

Director of Human Resources

Yvette Hausmann oversees recruiting, benefits, training, and staff development. She received a BS-Psychology from UHV and has over 20 years of experience in human resources. She joined Gulf Bend Center in 2019 and has been HR Director since 2022.

Chief Financial Officer

Kasie Mundine is responsible for the financial management of GBC by overseeing the accounting and billing departments as well as contracts. Kasie received her Master of Professional Accountancy from Stephen F. Austin State University. She joined the GBC team in 2016 as the Controller and has served as the CFO since 2022.

Chief Business Services Officer

Glenn Zengerle is responsible for the direction of technology initiatives for Gulf Bend Center. This includes all technology infrastructure, security, information services and systems. He began his career with Gulf Bend Center in 1990 and has worked in numerous areas of administration, quality metrics and special projects. Glenn holds a BSBA in business administration from the University of Houston Victoria.

Director of Quality and Compliance

Julia Galvan oversees the Quality Management Department and has been with Gulf Bend Center since June 2018. She is responsible for providing guidance and compliance oversight to the Behavioral Health, Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use Disorder services. She serves as the Privacy, Rights, and Safety Officer for Gulf Bend Center. She has over 21 years of Quality Management experience.
